No J. Jonah Jameson in the Spider-Man reboot?

IGN thinks not. With the movie filming, set photos popping up online, and the looming release date, why don’t we know who is playing the Daily Bugle’s Chief, J. Jonah Jameson? IGN believes “through a reliable source” that the character simply isn’t in the film, which opens next summer, July 3rd, 2012.

Fan favorite J.K. Simmons obviously wouldn’t appear in Marc Webb’s reboot to the Sam Raimi franchise for Sony, but a few months back, we (here) heard that either Sam Elliot or John Slattery (Mad Men) might be cast. Guess not.
