More from Commissioner Gordon on The Dark Knight Rises

Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises is already looking to be the most anticipated films of next year. However, one problem Nolan is facing is topping The Dark Knight, but Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) himself has already stated that we can expect a “fantastic” story in place for Nolan’s final Batman film (here). While we’re eager to get our hands on just about every detail we can find, Oldman does confirm this film will tie it all together. “The scope and also the way he brings it back to ‘Batman Begins,’ and really what Bruce Wayne discovers about himself. What he learns about himself at the end of this one.” Oldman said while speaking with MTV.

This is good as Nolan has already made it official that he will be completing his story with The Dark Knight Rises, and it makes sense for it to go back to Batman Begins. However, it’s also a little disappointing as The Dark Knight could have been seen as both films worked as stand-alone films, and it would have been nice for Nolan to bring that same feeling back this time. While it definitely doesn’t confirm (or deny) those rumors we’ve heard about The League of Shadows returning (here), it does make them a bit more suspicious. Anyway, we should know more on the film’s plot as production is scheduled to begin in a couple of months, and we should get confirmation on who Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard are portraying in the film.
