Michael Bay could direct Transformers 4 (UPDATED)
We all knew that Micheal Bay wouldn’t be leaving the Transformers franchise after Dark of the Moon hit it big, but he repeatedly said that he won’t be directing the film. However, insiders are now telling Vulture that Bay is in final negotiations to direct the next installment. A actual deal has yet to close yet, but it could very soon. In fact, an official announcement is expected as early as next week. It’s also suspected that filming would begin next Winter.
Keeping that in mind, details on the story are being kept secret at the moment. And unfortunately for many who want to see a prequel telling the origins of the Autobot/Decepticon civil war, this film will not go that route. In fact, this new film will delve deeper in the lore of the franchise, and bring even more familiar characters to life. It’s pretty safe to assume that Megatron will once again be ressurected in the next film, but hopefully we’ll finally see him become Galvatron.
Update: Bay responded to the news on his official site: “Studio’s are passing rumors but I’m not sure what I’m doing? I know I’m going to do Pain and Gain early spring but that’s it for right now. I’m leaving all my options on the table. I’ve got several Studio meetings in the next two weeks.”
