Mark Walhberg IS Nathan Drake in Uncharted

There seems to be some confusion concerning the casting of  David O. Russell’s adaptation of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. It was announced that Mark Walhberg was attached to lead the film back in late-November (here), but that was later “denied” by the director of Uncharted 3 game Justin Richmond little over a month later (here). Walhberg himself has now stepped in to give his word on the film.

Walhberg confirms (via Movie Web) that he IS attached in the lead role of the film. “David O. Russell is writing now and hopes to direct. It’s myself, Joe Pesci, and Robert De Niro,” he said. So, there you have it. Fans can now stop hoping for Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Serenity) to star in the lead. Although, fans will believe that Fillion would be perfect for the role, and some are even under the impression that Drake was modeled after Fillion. Walhberg has shown to give some great performances in his career, most recently with The Fighter.
