LA Readers: Spend a magical night with Ghost Story and Dick Smith!
It always warms my heart to see distinguished actors in a horror film. Ghost Story, the 1981 film based on Peter Straub’s best-selling novel, has a prestigious cast of seasoned veterans like Fred Astaire, Douglas Fairbanks, John Houseman and Melvyn Douglas. The movie was panned by most fans and critics upon its release, but it has gained a huge following over the years. One of the highlights is the outstanding make-up effects from guru Dick Smith, and he will be present for a screening at the New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles on October 27 at 8:00 PM.

An often overlooked film , that many horror fans slept on.
Saw this in theaters when it was released, own the dvd.
It will be dusted off in December, for holiday viewing.
