Kevin Smith’s Hit Somebody going all Twilight and being broken up into two-parts

It seems like all finales now days are getting their film split into two parts. Twilight‘s Breaking Dawn, The Hobbit, Harry Potter, and the unlikeliest of all, Hit Somebody. Kevin Smith’s final film, a hockey dramedy, will be split into two parts, according to Smith, with part one focusing on his character’s childhood, then the NHL. Smith claims his script is too big for one 2-hour movie, and not big enough for a TV series, which he was originally planning to do for Hit Somebody.

With Smith out of the studio game, he’s essentially doing whatever he wants. The cast includes Nicholas Braun, Kyle Gallner, Michael Angarano and possibly Colin Hanks, Stephen Root, John Goodman and Melissa Leo.

  1. He seems to be pulling a KILL BILL more than anything. That was a movie that was too long for 1 film and the Weinstein’s wanted to split it instead of having QT edit out anything. I don’t know if I like that idea for this movie, though. I’ll wait and see.
