Kenny Wormald could be Dirty Dancing after getting Footloose

It was announced last week that Lionsgate would be remaking the classic film Dirty Dancing (here). Fans obviously weren’t happy about as who could possibly fill the shoes of Patrick Swayze? Well, Lionsgate has someone in mind as What’s Playing is hearing the studio is interested in having Kenny Wormald lead the film.

Does the name sound familiar? It should has Wormald is currently the lead of Paramount’s Footloose remake, and his performance is beginning to get praise after some public previews of the film. Those involved in the Dirty Dancing remake have seen these previews, and are quite pleased by what they see. That doesn’t mean he’s got the part, and is just a name in consideration. But if Footloose hits big, then you can likely hear Wormald’s name in association with this project.
