Justice League will be “its own thing”
We got confirmation yesterday that a live-action Justice League of America film was in the works at Warner Bros. (here). Many found it odd the film was moving forward as The Flash and Wonder Woman have yet to have their debut on the silver screen, and only Superman, Green Lantern (on June 17th), and Batman have had a feature film. Well, that doesn’t matter as it appears that Snyder’s upcoming Superman reboot will have nothing to do with Justice League at all. “It doesn’t. Like what Chris Nolan is doing and what I’m doing with Superman, what they’ll do with Justice League will be it’s own thing with it’s own Batman and own Superman. We’ll be over here with our movie and they kinda get to do it twice which is kinda cool,” Snyder said to Hey U Guys.
Okay, so we knew Nolan’s take on Batman wouldn’t make it into the film as he’s stated his vision for the character exists in a world with no other superheroes, which is probably why the studio is once again rebooting the franchise (here). However, it was widely assumed that Snyder’s Superman reboot would go into Justice League. But it does make one wonder if Henry Cavill, who was announced as the new Clark Kent/Superman (here) in Snyder’s film, will be reprising his role in Justice League. If not, then it would mean there’s two different actors playing the same character in different franchises in development. Although, if the studio does intend to get the film out in 2013, then filming would probably interfere with Snyder’s reboot. That could also be an issue for the new Batman franchise if they plan to keep that separate from Justice League as well. It’s really too early for us to know much about WB’s plans for this film, but hopefully we hear more soon.
