Johnny Depp is game for Pirates 5
Johnny Depp just can’t get enough of Jack Sparrow. He’ll be reprising his role as the charming Jack Sparrow for the fourth time in Rob Marshall’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and he’s not set on giving up the role yet either. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Depp mentioned that he would be more than happy to play Sparrow for more sequels. “As long as we can put all the puzzle pieces together, I would most definitely consider it,” he said.
We’ve already heard that Pirates 5 and 6 could be shooting back-to-back (here). While Depp doesn’t confirm that, he does mention that he’s been discussing the possibility of a fifth installment. Although, it’s too early to even know if Pirates 5 will happen, but it’s very likely given the popularity of the series. However, if the news that each sequel will be shot continuously turns out true, then Depp could be busy for the next few years. He’s already set to star in The Lone Ranger and in Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides opens on May 20, 2011.
