Jason Statham once again rumored for Transformers 4
Sometimes rumors just won’t die. We’ve heard rumors that Jason Statham would be taking over the lead in Transformers 4 since Shia Lebeouf has said repeatedly he wouldn’t be returning, and twice Michael Bay has squashed that rumor. However, this time the rumor comes from Tyrese Gibson. The Actor has somewhat hinted on his Twitter (via Comic Book Movies) that Jason Statham, or someone who’s initials are “JS” would be “up next” to join the franchise. But he later posts that his comments weren’t aimed at Jason Statham. Damage control perhaps?
As stated above, Michael Bay did deny that Statham would be invovled in the next Transformers film, but can we really take Bay’s word for it? Bay has stated that he would be leaving the franchise after Dark of the Moon, but we’ve already heard last week (here) that he could be directing the next film after all. Perhaps Bay is merely trying to keep Statham’s involvement a secret until he makes an official decision on Transformers 4. Hopefully, we can get something official on the film soon.
