Jane Goldman is taking Kick-Ass 2 to bed (Updated)
It’s been a while since anything has been heard on the status of Kick-Ass 2. We’ve heard the film is has been green-lit, and that Mark Millar is currently finishing up the graphic novel. The Daily Mail reveals that Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass, X-men: First Class) is currently writing the script from her bed. The original film wasn’t big hit at the box-office, the DVD/Blu-ray sales have gained the film enough money to move forward with a sequel. It’s unknown if Vaughn will return and direct the sequel, but it’s likely it could be his next film after X-men: First Class is completed.
Update: Goldman recently took to her Twitter (via Filmonic) account to clarrify The Daily Mail’s claim. “Saw a few erroneous reports today that I’m currently writing Kick Ass 2 script – sorry if anyone’s disappointed, but not true. Currently writing for 2 other projects, then on to lovely Matthew V’s next thing (right now, looks unlikely to be KA2) when X-Men post-prod’ ends.” So, it looks as though Kick-Ass 2 won’t be Vaughn’s next film after all.

and we all know how accurate and trustworthy the daily mail is. the rest of the article is a piece of literary sunshine and intellect. come on.

Well, Millar said recently that he’s finishing up the comic, and that work on the film version would begin shortly (like now).
