James Wan continues to talk SAW 8
Lionsgate has stated numerous times that Saw 3D: The Final Chapter is the last Saw film, and while it did feature the weakest box office performance of the sequels, it still made money. So why are the press still drumming up questions to James Wan for a return to the franchise he created (here)?
Maybe because Insidious made bank? Who knows, but IGN brought up Saw 8 to James Wan and Leigh Whannell again. “You can always count on capitalism, guys,” Wan told IGN. “The fact that it’s such a huge, well-known franchise means it’s going to come back at some point.”
So Gordon Gekko’s philosophy will bring them back to Saw? “I would come back if we were allowed to do something different and really cool,” Wan said and Whannell agreed, saying, “We would want to do something that’s a bit of a different take.”
