James Franco in talks for Akira?
The rumor mill surrounding Albert Hughes’ live-action adaptation of Akira has been silent recently. There was rumor that Zack Efron was up for the lead, but that was (thankfully) debunked (here). But Just Jared dis now getting word that James Franco (127 Hours, Rise of the Apes) is in talks for the lead role of Travis (Kaneda in the original manga and anime). No word on how truthful this report is as the site couldn’t provide a source, so it would be safer to take this as a rumor for right now.

why on earth would they try and transit this into live-action
it should stay as an anime. it should not be re-made or touched at all.
