Issues with Taken 2

Can you picture the sequel to 2008′s big box office hit without Liam Neeson? Apparently, that the issue with Taken 2. Luc Besson is writing the script with Robert Mark Kamen, and is eying Transporter 3‘s director, Olivier Megaton, for the sequel, but Liam Neeson doesn’t want to reprise his role of Bryan Mills.

Why?

Scheduling.  The film is going to interfere with Neeson’s busy schedule and Besson has met with him numerous times to work something out, according to Deadline. But more to the point, Neeson wants an acting break. Besson wants to shoot later this year. If Neeson does drop out of Taken 2, Besson has been considering Mickey Rourke, Ralph Fiennes, Ray Winstone, Sean Bean and Jason Isaacs as potential fill-ins.

First, chill. Taken 2 will not work without Neeson and I’m sure Fox will offer up a nice paycheck and the source claims, while not definite, but it does look like Neeson is considering a return. We will see.
