Is Mickey Rourke no longer doing Iron Man 2?

For some time now, The Wrestler and Sin City star and Oscar nominee Mickey Rourke has been talked about for the role of Whiplash in the upcoming Iron Man 2. . . That is until now, as Rourke who was seen at this weeks New York Fashion Week recently, was asked the typical Oscar questions and then asked on his participation in the summer blockbuster to which he replied: ”Right now, we’re not doing Iron Man 2,” .  Of course, this does not mean he will not take the role when casting is decided, but the news does leave a bit of distaste for those of us looking forward to seeing the former boxer take on the villainous role in the anticipated sequel.
