Idris Elba to battle monsters in Pacific Rim?
The Wrap is reporting that Idris Elba (Thor, The Wire) is being pursued for a role in Guillermo Del Toro’s Pacific Rim. No other details are known, but he would be joining Charlie Hunnam, who was cast recently. The film was reportedly about monsters that rose from the Pacific Ocean after an earthquake with the humans piloting giant mechs to fight them. However, the film is now being described as humans protecting the planet from an onslaught of alien monsters. No word if this is the change is official due to the tragic disaster in Japan recently.
