I am Legend prequel nixed for good
After the box office success of the Will Smith-starring adaptation of the classic Richard Matheson novel, Warner Bros. and director Francis Lawrence were considering a prequel. Talking to MTV, Lawrence affirms it’s as dead as a staked vampire. “No, I don’t think that’s ever going to happen.”
Done and done. Personally, the idea sounded ill-advised anyway on a prequel. There was plenty of flashbacks that filled that void, in my opinion.
I agree. I really enjoyed I Am Legend, but the flashbacks provided enough backstory.
