Hugh Jackman to host the Oscars!!

Not really sure if this is good news or not but today we have word that X-Men star Hugh Jackman will be hosting the 81st annual academy awards.  There has been alot of cheer throughout the interwebs regarding this annoucement today as they academy is thinking outside of the box, but personally I just don’t see him keeping my attention for the full 4 hour show that we will all be watching (especially if the dark knight is nominated for best film) in February.

Chicago producers Bill Condon and Laurence Mark will be producing the awards show and had this to say as to why they chose the star: “Hugh Jackman is a consummate entertainer and an internationally renowned movie star,”  “He also has style, elegance and a sense of occasion. Hugh is the ideal choice to host a celebration of the year¹s movies and to have fun doing it.”
