Fast and the Furious 6 has a release date

Say what you will, Universal’s Fast and the Furious series continues to make more money than the last sequel, so after one of 2011′s biggest box office hits, it was inevitable that Fast and Furious 6 (or Fast Six or Fast & Furious 6) would be announced, and Vin Diesel did just that on his Facebook page.

“For all of you that supported Fast Five, in a way no one could have predicted… seeing it multiple times to record breaking box office…

To you, who stayed through credits, and from the moment you left the theater wanted to know, when Six was coming out… I have a date.

Memorial Day 2013!!!

You, officially, are the first to know.

P.s. This miraculously gives us more preproduction time than we had on Fast Five… I am happy and excited.

The Saga continues...”

No word on if director Justin Lin will return, as this is early news on the sequel.
