Exclusive – Mark Pavia wants to Sick Nick on you
Not only do we have a retrospective on Mark Pavia’s first film, The Night Flier, the filmmaker updated us on the status of his next project.
“SICK NICK is currently out to investors and if all goes as planned, we’ll be in production this coming winter. It’s a return to a type of classic horror film that I truly love and miss and want to see more of — a movie in the vein of Carpenter’s HALLOWEEN, Cunningham’s FRIDAY THE 13TH, and Walton’s WHEN A STRANGER CALLS. Some might call it an “old-school” horror film, but I prefer to say it’s an “ONLY-SCHOOL” horror film, because for me it is the only way to approach this kind of material — stories that take themselves seriously and never wink at the audience, that are rich and anchored in character and suspense, and have a villain that is truly horrific and unstoppable and iconic. I’m extremely excited about it! It’s going to be one hell of a Christmas present for horror fans all around the world.”
