Deadpool gets a director

It seems that Twentieth Century Fox has finally attached a director to their Deadpool spin-off. Sources have told the LA Times that visual-effects  savant Tim Miller will be making his directorial debut with the film. This isn’t the first time Miller has worked on superhero films, and has provided his visual effects talents to X-men, Daredevil, and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. However, the last time we saw visual effects artist make a directorial debut was with Greg and Colin Strause on Alien vs. Predator: Requiem and Skyline. Both of those films were mindless fun, but could have been a lot better. However, it’s way too early to write Miller off just yet.

Ryan Reynolds is set to reprise his role as Wade Wilson AKA Deadpool (here), and the film reportedly has a great script. Hopefully this film doesn’t disappoint. There’s no word on when things will get moving on the project, and Reynolds still has a busy schedule.
