Darren Aronofsky to direct Moses or Maleficent?
Ever since Darren Aronofsky left The Wolverine (here), it’s been a question about what would be his next project. And as luck would have it, Tim Burtion recently dropped out of directing Maleficent for Walt Disney Pictures. Sources are telling Bad-Ass Digest the studio is wanting Aronofsky to direct their spin-off to Sleepy Beauty starring Angelina Jolie.
Meanwhile, we heard a while ago that two projects about The Book of Exodus were in the works at Warner Bros. and Twentieth Century Fox (here), and their sources are now saying that Aronofsky is being courted to direct WB’s adaptation. We can remember that Aronofsky created his own take on another Biblical story, Noah’s Ark and wants to make that into a movie as well (here).
Moses maybe more up Aronofsky alley as it would seem a little wierd seeing Aronofsky direct a Disney movie given his past films. However, it would certainly be interesting to see his take on Maleficent.
