Dark Tower update

In an update on an earlier story in regards to Stephen King’s The Dark Tower adaptation (here), it would seem that the project is going to remain with Universal for the time being. Last week it seemed that the huge project was just that, too huge of an undertaking.

The budget seems to have sky rocketed so huge that Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Akiva Goldsman are in the process of bringing it down in order for this to have a chance. There is word that Goldsman is rewriting the script to fit in with a new budget, and a new start date would be expected as well. The original plan was for The Dark Tower to be a trilogy of films with a TV aspect as well. No word yet on the status of Javier Bardem who was attached to star.
